Pacific Northwest Leanings
Since relocating to Anacortes, Washington in 1991, Currier has become deeply rooted in the culture and visual language of the Pacific Northwest. The region’s sweeping landscapes, especially the Skagit Valley’s tulip fields and the migrant workers who labor in them, are frequent subjects in his paintings. Through bold impasto strokes and atmospheric plein air scenes, he captures the unique blend of human resilience and natural beauty that defines the area.
